Help me decide.
Do I get the HD4870 single chip and an SLI board, and get another one later, or do I go for the HD4870X2 straight away?

The x2's go for between 7 & 10k each.
The normal 4870's go for between 3.2 & 5.2k
Also remember you'll need a stronger power supply to run the x2 or 2x cards...
Here's the real kicker though:
You can get the 9800gt card for 2.2k...
That's why I went for 2x 9800's.
