If your contract is finished or you bought the phone, Then contact your current service provider and for a small charge they will send you the correct code to unlock it and therefore enable you to use another provider.

If however you are still under contract then they may refuse or charge you the value left on your contract.

I have the same phone with the same Q, I have a contract with my Service Provider and would like to unlock the phone.

Is there any other way to get the unlock code?

At the moment,(though things do move fast) i do not know of any safer way to unlock your phone, there are many sites that offer unlocking services but i would not like to guarentee their success, and remember if it goes wrong, you are left with nothing but a pretty paperweight, The charge made by a service provider is not expensive, unless you are still under contract with them,where you can be expected to pay the outstanding amount of the contract which is their right to do. I would give them a ring and just ask, you do not loose anything that way do you, and at least you know if they do give you the code, it will work, if not that is their responsibility and they would need to rectify the problem.

Thanks for the response, I will try to call my provider however I really dont think they will give me this info. In Canada they like to lock stuff like this down so you have to stay locked with them. Yes I do have a contract with them for a while so we will see
