    Empty your temporary files folder.

    Use this command to empty your temporary files folder:
    Start -> Run -> RMDIR /S /Q "%TEMP%"
    So far I still can't hear anything from the Firefox browser.
    FireFox does not store the temporary internet files in the folder meant for installation/app temporary files or the internet explorer temp

    You'll find the temp directory for Fox somewhere here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\Cache

    just put that in Start > Run
    assuming that windows is installed in the C: drive.
    Replace User Name with your windows user name (if you dont get a correct user name just browse to that folder from my computer with show hidden files enabled)

    And whatever - Opera is the best browser for humans or matrians or anything else

    No one to blame but myself...

    After trying the above 'antidote' (I think it started when I installed the Shockwave player) I am now unable to hear audio from YouTube videos either!

    LoL!!!

    I will try uninstalling it and see what happens...
