sometimes does the same to me,but i give minimize and then maximaze and the sound works .

You'll find the temp directory for Fox somewhere here:
C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\Cache
just put that in Start > Run
assuming that windows is installed in the C: drive.
Replace User Name with your windows user name (if you dont get a correct user name just browse to that folder from my computer with show hidden files enabled)
And whatever - Opera is the best browser for humans or matrians or anything else

No one to blame but myself...
After trying the above 'antidote' (I think it started when I installed the Shockwave player) I am now unable to hear audio from YouTube videos either!
LoL!!!
I will try uninstalling it and see what happens...
