App Manager?

I have a new Motorola Atrix...MB860. android ver. 2.3.4
First, let me say this is my first smart phone...I've noted there are a LOT of apps out there...and my friends have recommended many......which brings me to my question.
What is the best app manager?
I have a feeling I will be downloading, installing and trying more than a few apps and I want a comprehensive, to the point manager to keep track of the when, where etc. of the apps downloaded, tried out and used or not. Instead of leaving all on the phone or SD card, I can use dropbox as a backup for the apps. Altho I have no smart phone experience, I have more than adequate computer knowledge. Any suggestions are appreciated. L

I tried Astro and ES and ended up with ES. Found it easier to read and easier

to navigate, and I think it was faster (but I could be wrong). Amazing is that

Astro is more liked but ES has a higher rating at Appbrain.
