Elena is living with her aunt because her parents died. she has a little sister margaret who is around four or five years old. Then this Mysterious guy named stefan come BACK into town. He's a Vampire. ELena finds out later in the book. then stefans brother comes into town. He's also a Vampire. Now there are two vampires in this little town who both are in love with elena who looks like the girl they knew, 100 or so years ago who also turned them both into vampires, then later killed herself.
