Opera mini comparison with java mobile browsers
Opera mini 3 is a 344 kb java based mobile internet application. Its a cool application featuring an address tab with full screen edit. while in opera mini 4.2(id:389583 size:125kb,jar) has an inline edit. For opera mini 5, it has both options (settings>advanced>fullscreen edit>on or of) when in the case of ucweb handler,it has an inline edit with option "show advanced url input" (preference>basic settings>show advanced url input) which enable history and autocomplete input automatically. For Bolt160 browser, also have both options(menu>preferences>inline edit>on or off)
Inline edit helps us to use history of previous urls. Full screen edit helps to use dictionary while typing url input. Only opera softwares may need to refresh the page before connecting to server.
All above mentioned browser allow a google search option at homepage.
Opera mini 3 have a wikipedia, imdb, and dictionary one touch go option. We can add more to this list.
Opera mini 4.2 and 5 don't have this.
For opera mini 3 Bookmark and history are also at home page.
The leftside switch for menu and right side one for cancel. These are the facility we get with it. There is a http or 3g set up selection menu too. Also opera mini 3,4.2,5 has got a clock with it. Others dont.
Opera mini 3 allows user to see the size of webpage that is loading. And bottom side shows the progress of downloading of page. Its very usefull when you are charged for data transfer. Opera mini 4.2 also have the same facility. While open mini 5 only displays the percentage progress only. For UCWEB ,it download the data first and then images. Also displays the amount of data in kb. BOLT only shows the percentage progress.
For downloading purposes opera 3 and 4 uses the default phone browser. UCWEB opera 5 and BOLT ,they have their own download wizard. In my personal experience UCWEB is good in downloading and uploading purpose.
As on my experience, opera mini 5 beta and beta 2 has got some network connection issues. Sometimes it may not detect the connection settings. Also it only refresh when you give a manual input. Such as a search query in google results only refreshing the page. Since the 5 version is still in beta(testing) stage, I hope that, they will fix these problems.
The bolt browser is unique in the field of video rendering . It buffers the video even in 40 kbps data speed. With volume. But any other browser have this facilityLast edited by mran; 10-03-2010 at 09:58 AM.

Something more About it
The looks, the facility to add bookmarks, the ability of data compression(upto90% ) the experience of seeing the full site(like in computer) makes opera 5 invincible. But still some problems there, the high quality image option still displayes
Medium quality. It is incapable of detecting 2g networks in some sony ericsson phone.(c510). Last, a personal problem ,though it displays the full site view, it won't allow me to use the direct download to pc option.

It's true, image quality isn't at its best and they still need to fix the .gif animations problem
