Help required please

Sorry for being a technophobe but how do i get the background in my profile to display a big picture rather than loads of small ones? i have an album cover i want to use but i cant get it to cover the whole background, if that makes sense?

Yeah i have tried doing that before but one picture becomes many and looks bad.

But i seen some profiles that has kind of done that.
