    im not sure about upgrading your java but if you download opera mini to your phone it has a better version already in it

    Opear Mini (or any other app for that matter) will not update the Java environment on your phone. Theres no easy way to update Java unless the phone maker releases a new firmware (operating system of the phone) which includes a more recent version of Java.

    If you have a SE, then you can get new firmware from Sony Ericsson Update Service, theres also a Nokia one
