Newbie Question plz

ok I have an LG Chocolate Touch with a usb cable. I would like to get some ringtones on here and can do it with the email way. But was wanting to know how to do this with the usb part. Can someone help me when I connect my usb cable to phone it brings up the part about sycing Sorry about spelling and I get a choice about music or data and i click on music but not sure what to do. I know this may sound confusing and I am sorry. Just would like to know how to do it with the usb cable if it can be done.

You use data option i think, then drag and drop files you want to transfer to your phone.
