Well, only the link can be texted, not the full file...
that would be too large i guess...
Im not saying it cant... im just not sure :|

I can only speak for myself here at M24, but I'm able to attach an MP3 to a text message and, as long as it's under 270 KB's, send it out.
But like you said, it's a large file, and I wouldn't reccommend doing it unless you have an unlimited text messaging plan...
