How does unlocking work basically?

The best method to unlock you phone is by unlock codes, if you can't buy it ..just call your provider service tell them you're travelling out of the country and you need an unlock code for the phone. They'll get one for you.

Note: Do not enter any wrong unlock unlock codes on your Sagem my150X. If you enter over a certain amount of wrong unlock codes, your phone may get hard locked and sometimes become unusable.

The most obvious reason for having your phone unlocked is so that you can use another provider's services. Maybe it is because your service provider is too expensive or maybe it is just because they have poor coverage where you live.

The second likely reason to have your phone unlocked is so that you can temporarily use another provider's SIM card in your phone. This might be because you are roaming overseas and don't want to pay high roaming fees for the two weeks you are away and it would be a lot cheaper to buy a pre-paid SIM and airtime.
