You can save applications to the phone memory if you like.
Hello,
I found the solution to downloading games onto W810i.
You need to copy and paste it in archived format (.jar) into the others folder.
i cant find the ''MSSEC >> Media files >> other >> '' thing
Whats the difference between .jar and .jad?
Wow you guys must be realy new to this..
Most phones only need a 'jar' file , but if your phone says "application error" or something similar, download the 'jad" file beside or in the same folder as the same jar file. This doesn't always fix the problem though. some games are made for specific models, etc.
The diference is the jar file is usualy the actual game file while the jad is kinda like the patch for different phones.
Downloading the game (file .jar) to your COMPUTER
>Plug in ur phone via USB or insert your memory card (thats had been formated in you phone), If use use a phone method and plug it in to the computer via USB with the memory card inserted into the phone, make sure you understand the 'removable media types" 1. phone, 2. Phone Card.
>I usually place it in my phone card, so if I ever decide to delete the game, i can always reinstall from my memory card.
>For this I will guide you through the method using the memory card.
>When you you plug in your phone you should have 'Auto Play" window come up (if not then go to your computer and "explore" the proper removable media)
> (Auto Play Window or explore drive "I") eg. Phone Card (I:) click "Open Floder To View Files",
>Double click the file "MSSEMC", double click "Media Files", Double click "other".
Place that window to the side (don't close or minimize)
>Drag and drop the jar file you just downloaded into the 'other' folder (and jad file as well, IF! nessasary) try it without the jad first...
>Once the file or files have been completly transfered (don't unplug or remove card during transfer!!! wait untill competed takes only about 3-5 seconds....) close All open windows (window where you downloaded the game and the "other" folder window from your card.
> make sure its ok to remove memorey card or to unplug from computer
>insert the memory card back into the phone (wait 20 seconds after, so the phone can reconize the card, you may have to power down and restart the phone...likely not though)
> access the 'file manager" menu in your phone, go down to '"other" folder.
> open the folder and you should see a "java" icon with the same name of the game you transfered.
>click (install) on the game you want to install, and follow the prompts it gives you after. If "application error' occures donwload and transfer jad file into the "other" folder of the memory card.
>once installed you can go back to your game in the "games" folder or icon of your phone
> if you want to cange certain things bout the game like access, permissions, Min-max screen sizes, etc, go to the ame , highlite the game and you should see a "more" option (or equivalent) on your top left or right selection buttons.
> Then change the game how ever you want to (I.E. Screen size "defualt" to 128*160), the re-open the game.
Note; It is very important to know your Max screen size!...check the manual or online information about your phone. seriously, get to know your phone by reading the manual, it's woth it....
Don't download games that exceeds your screen size, they won't work properly. If u r not sure your size go for 128*128 or 128*160 (smallest sizes). Most games that size should fit on anyone's phone.
P.S. You DO NOT need to use any software that came with the phone, just drag and drop into the right locations! If you can plug in your phone to the computer, treat it like a removable memory card, flash drive, memory stick, etc.
HOPE THIS HELPS U GUYS........:clap::wow:
