Yes, it uses the same operating system as the iPhone (iOS), so all iPhone apps will work on the iPod Touch. Apps downloaded/purchased directly from the Apple App Store (which is built in) will work fine, but If you're looking to install (sideload) free 3rd party apps, like those found on the forum, then you would need to jailbreak it. ;)
