How do i install games onto the Samsung J700?
I didnt think you could? Samsung are poop when it comes to java games and interacting with computers..
You might be able to get a bluetooth dongle for your PC though... and send them to your phone that way? they come quite cheap now.. too.
Already got a dongle and all that.
Ive sent the game to my phone but when i click on it it wont install or do nothing.
On most Samsung phones the Java install menus are disabled and can only be unlocked with a special code, which at the moment doesn't seem to be available.:(
I had that problem too and I think that the maximum size for .jar files is around 250 for samsung SGH-J700
go to [Linking to competing and/or commercial websites are strictly forbidden] most games there work, you have to click on samsung, and then your phone. download the jar and jad files of a game, put them on your phone via a USB. put in other files on your phone itself.
dial *#9998*4678255#
go to other files, and click options at the jad file
then it should work i think :)
i have samsung j700, most of the games DO work in my phone, and its maximum java applications capacity is 300 kb, not 250 kb. secondly, the .jad files u get from sites dont always work, for that u need a JADMAKER, here it is:
http://www.4shared.com/file/62500493.../JADMaker.html
install the JADMAKER, open it, drag ur downloaded jar file onto it, it will make a jad file instantly. transfer both of them to ur phone via USB cable, install the jad file. SIMPLE! and the resolution is 128x160. most of the gameloft and glu games work perfectly!:)
i haf installed da jad maker buh its n0t working :s
well, then install it again n open the program named as JADMaker, then u'll see a window, just drag n drop ur .jar files onto that window. its easy!
i have done all that but i says "JAVA Game Error"
what do i do?
then go download this file, JAVA Jam Adapter for Mobiles
install it, open the file named JAM, then configure your settings this way: in the ADAPT FOR column, select Samsung as the Model, and select 128x160 as the Screen Size. in the ADAPT FROM column, select Auto for the Model, n tick on ELSE-DEFAULT PROFILE. click on Create Jad File underneath. then click on Open Jar, select the game u want to install in ur phone, n then click ADAPT JAR. now ur file shud work. just cut and paste both the files in the desired folder of ur phone. have fun! n if u dont mind, can u please click the rep button??? :D bye! pm me if u want any more help.
okay thanks..
how do you expand the max. jar size because it won't let me install games bigger than 300kb
Can I install themes on Samsung j700?
no sorry, u can't.
how can i rezise games to the right resolution?
I dont think u can resize games for samsung phones. u may use JAVA JAM ADAPTER, but all it does is remove errors from them (the games which display error). it doesn't really RESIZE them either. games can be resized for Nokia and SE phones. but its not possible to resize every game in Nokia either. But u can try if u want to. Jam is uploaded on 4shared.
ok i got my new phone yesterday and i put the jar and the jad file on my phone(samsung j700) i didnt type any code in and i launched the jad file IT WORKED i could play the game yay! BUT THEN all of i sudden i was half way through putting games on my phone and it just stopped letting me install the games so i though "o ill just try again later ill play some of them in the mean time" BUT OHHH NOO it wouldnt let me play any of the games any more :( :( WHAT IS GOIN ON (im on virgin network if that means anything
have u tried restarting ur phone? and if that doesn't work then u might have to take out the battery and sim, and insert them in again. some games slow down this phone. i have played many games due to which the phone hangs! just stops working. my suggestion: go in games n apps n find and delete the installed game which is causing this problem. hope it helps. it usually does with my phone.
Hi GamerGal, I have tried every thing u had mentioned in ur post but i still get java errors. can u please post sum game links which works on ur j700??
do u need to use any unlocking codes to install the games?? please help!!!
U can go here: 128x160
Or here: Multiscreen
My name's Zarnaz, download any files u want which I've uploaded over there by my name. Make sure the files u download are less than or equal to 300 kb (files more than that are for other phones). nearly all the files which I've uploaded work in my Samsung J700. and no, I didn't need any codes to install games. hope i helped! n if those files work, please inform me, i might upload some more.
hi im also with a problem on games for samsung j700
and i did tryed jadmaker but always i want to put it on my phone there always comes an massage:"this type of file isnt compactible with this map"
i hope you can help me with it
P.S.:i am using new pc studio to put it on my samsung
actually u really don't need any PC Studio for this, just make sure that ur Memory Card is inserted in the phone and then connect the phone to PC. that's it, ur pc should recognize the device (I did it the same way). and I'm really sorry but I don't know anything about that error u mentioned. I never received any such error in my phone.
Make sure that:
1. The .jar files are equal to or less than 300 kb.
2. The names of the .jar and its .jad file are same! There shouldn't even be a difference of a coma or a full-stop, got it???
3. The game you have downloaded is NOT 3D. (if it is 3D, then it will give an APPLICATION ERROR or the phone will freeze, mine did!)
4. The resolution is 128x160.
5. Finally, please move BOTH .jar and .jad files in the SAME folder. and then install with the .jad file.
hope i've helped! :):):) pm me if u have any other problems. :)
gamergirl i was thinking about getting this phone. i was wondering how much memory is there for the java applications. is it a separate memory folder like the 4mb java world in other samsungs or are the games applied to the phones internal memory reserved for pics videos etc.if thats the case then there aint much space really unless you move the games to the card if thats possible.300kb limit for downloads, but say you downloaded 295kb and once you loaded it, it increased over 300kb,would the game still run? also whats the video recording quality like? i heard it was ok 15 fps. the quality on the e250 which i own at the moment is poor to say the least. with the j700 can you view the videos in full screen? and can the music player support formats in WMA? just one thing, the old samsung design for the music player had a nice coloured visualisation display, the disco, rainbow stlyle. seems the j700 is just plain black or white. is there any way to background or a skin maybe. help would be appreciated thanks.
Cyrberus, in a nut shell:
1. There is no extra space for java games/applications.
2. There is an external memory card slot which supports up to 2 GB memory card.
3. You CANNOT install or move ur installed games in memory card, they are only installed in the phone memory.
4. The game should be less than or equal to 300 kb BEFORE installing or downloading. It doesn't matter what size it becomes afterwards, I had many installed games of even 400 kb.
5. Yes, the video quality is ok, you can watch videos in full-screen.
6. I think the WMA format is supported. I don't own that phone any more.
7. Last but not the least, it does NOT support any kind of theme, skin for music player e.t.c., its either just plain old black or overly bright white. (out of these two, black is the best option.)
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! :)
many thanks for the info gg. the j700 looks a promising advancment over the e250 so i might give it a try.i see so it doesnt matter if when you down a game and it loads over 300kb when it starts the application, as long as its under 300kb when you download. this is in the case of doomrpg whereas mostly all versions of the game work on all phone models, but hence the file size is 301kb! the siemens version is 293kb and worked just fine on my e250 which it builds up to something like 370,400. and still i reckon the most memorable turn based fps i have ever played. execellent psuedo sci fi space station 3d graphics and characters, pulsating weapons, intriging plot and story with an unforgatable twist to the ending. orcs and elves is based on the same graphic design engine as doom, but the characters move slower. and from the rummers on various game sites doomrpg part 2 return to mars is supposed to be released this although i dont think id software has yet to confirm it. just one question gg is there any way to increase the phone mem on the j700? maybe deleting some of the preinstalled games or, like a code or a memory booster you could download to the phone. thanks.
I tried downloading the Memory Booster thing, the application worked, but had no effect on phone's memory. And yes you can delete the pre-installed games, but apart from that, you have to limit your photos and videos, or move them into the memory card. Believe me, it was a horrible experience for me!
And its design doesn't help either! The back cover of my phone was covered in scratches in a month! It really effected its price when I went to sell it. The screen is no exception either. And the fingerprints tend to stick on it like a magnet! Please think about it again! And one more thing, the photos don't come out sharp as well, they are always slightly blurred and bluish, no matter how steady your hand is.
Best of LUCK!!!
gg i will think and wait about getting the j700 because really i longed for the d900 which was the phone when it first came out, and still is with good ergonomic design, its keypad and decent cam, video etc. but seems its kinda obselete in stores nowadays and i dont purchase stuff online. if you download games online straight to your phone, there is a site that has mostly every single mobile game you can think of,fishlabs, gameloft and some 3d ones as well.its in russian but easy to find the downloads which you can load straight to the phone in either jar or jad. i can send you the link if you like, though i cant write it here because of legal stuff. just few more questions on the j700 which i forgot to ask. can you pause the video during recording? and you mentioned videos could be viewed in full screen. can that be possible with video files on the memory card? how is the quality smooth, semi smooth, slow in low light conditions or lag with cuts like in the e250. just wondering cause the reviews have put it down as 15fps. any more info would be appreciated thanks.
Ummm... I really don't remember whether u can pause while making a video or not, but the quality is fine. not lagging at all, although if u play larger videos, the screen goes black for a few seconds, and then suddenly the video starts, but that's not a big problem. And the videos can be full screen in landscape mode, whether u play them from phone memory or memory card. (after starting the video, just press #)
I converted MANY videos for my phone, many movies actually, and they all came out fine. I used to watch movies all the time in that phone. And if the movie u converted is in CinemaScope, then obviously ur video will also be in CinemaScope. But the videos have good quality, not what I like, but still good.
the movies i watch on my e250 were all downloaded from vuclip.com it mostly searches youtube. the videos are 3gp format in 176 144 resolution. i tried mp4 but their all 240 320, and since the phones screens 128 160, it wont play anything above 176. though phones with 176 220 screens can play video cif 255 388. but handsets with 240 320, 176 144 videos show up very small only half the screen. good flicks 2. i never saw revenge of the sith till i download 10 minute 14 parts of the whole movie. and what an ending. impressive, most impressive.
Actually, there is only one problem if u dont have a memory card, the phone just doesn't have enough memory! that's all. And i really dont understand ur second question. U can transfer ur games to ur phone via a USB very easily, just copy and paste. Or is it anything else u wanted to ask?
sorry it doesn't work for me !!!!!!
this is the instruction how to bypass java protection for j700i the same phone as j700.
1. To install java games you need to copy jar & jad files in same folder to microSD card.
2. To remove limit 300 kb you need to open jad file with notepad ... and change the number of file sizes. Something will be like this 400000 you chnage it to 260000 :)
3. Some games needs to edit jad file information to be able to even play the game. Or will show the error.
4. On samsung phone if you install first time the game .. and it shows error you will not install the second game because you need to enter JAVA section and delete tha game that cause the error and re-instal it. That is the biggest problem :)
5. Here is some games that I play on my samsung j700i that I edited JAD files that will do the work on all samsung phones with resolution 128*160
timeshock
asphalt 4
asphalt 3
minesweeper
some money aplication
basketball ...... etc..

6. phone games made for sony erikson k500i can play with this phone also.
I have a Samsung Propel (A767) I want to install games on. I can get the games put on my phone with no problem but how do I install them/play them? When I select the game I get an "Unsupported file type" error message.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Alrite, kids, i can realize U R having a hard time INSTALLING GAMES into SAMSUNG mobiles, well, here´s a good option:
U dont need PC STUDIO, ok?
u set default USB to massive storing
U definately NEED jadmaker, easy to use and very reliable
well: after DOWNLOADING a JAR FILE, u save it WITHOUT changing its original name, ok?
you SAVE the jar IN Memory Stick, and you create jad file simply by traying jar into jadmakers window; Ull be almost done by now
HERE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF IT:
u now got "X".jar and "X".jad IN THE SAME FOLDER, ok?
U GO to NAVIGATOR (left of MEDIA) and click TYPE URL
CLEAR the http: thing and TYPE THIS:
file:///Mount/Mmc/X.jar
instead of the X you type the FULL and EXACT ORIGINAL NAME OF THE FILE U DOWNLOADED, OK? and i mean EXACTLY WRITTEN
when u got that typed you just click GO and there U go,,,i hope i helped, i got SAMSUNG CORBY S3653 and it ABSOLUTELY WORKS
THNX 4 READING
till the jadmaker it works..rest was :blink::whee:
