What an exciting race!!!!
Except for the part where Hamilton won...
But there was so much chaos!!
Ferrari stuffed up big time this round.
Kimi was SO much quicker than Hamilton in the first stint, and then they didn't change his tires and effectively threw away a chance of victory.
But it was a good race. We now have a three-way tie.
Good stuff.
3 way tie at the top of the championship!
with one more two points behind!
yeah but it was nice to see a brit win the British Grand PrixQuote:
Except for the part where Hamilton won...
so do all the other drivers i bet!
You had any left??!!
After he'd managed to crash into TWO parked cars in the pits?!
The Italian press hailed McLaren and slammed its beloved national marque Ferrari after the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
With Kimi Raikkonen's victory challenge thwarted by a pit strategy error, the sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport paid tribute to Lewis Hamilton's "perfect" victory on his home turf.
"Ferrari made a large error by not changing the tyres at the first pitstop. And Felipe Massa was not the same driver we saw at Magny-Cours," the report added, contrasting the Brazilian driver's win two weeks ago with his plethora of mistakes on Sunday.
Corriere dello Sport described: "Cold shower for Ferrari. The weather forecasting betrayed Maranello, but McLaren is more reactive and flexible in difficult conditions.
"
La Repubblica described Sunday at Silverstone as a "black day" for Ferrari and mourns the switch to Honda of its former strategy guru Ross Brawn.
"You cannot expect victory at each race, but with Ferrari you somehow get the clear impression that something is not working right. The strategy must be changed," the newspaper said.
If i was you lot, go down to your local race circuit, and go and watch cars lose and win there.
Fires are often in minis and old style formula 1 cars.
Say what?
Sorry Andy but I don't get what you're saying.
And the Formula 1 circuit closest to me is in Australia...
nice idea andy, watch other motor sports by all means(touring cars can be a lot of fun to watch)but formula 1 is universally viewed as the top of the motor sport pile, with the best cars and the best drivers.
I watch a lot of motorsport.
Rallies, Nascar, GP2, A1. But I'm only passionate about Formula1.
:wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:

The Renault F1 Team will return to the streets of Sandton, Johannesburg on Sunday, 27th July 2008.
A crowd of over 80 000 turned out to watch the 2007 event.
Renault F1 team driver Nelson Piquet will be seen in action again this year and will be piloting the Renault F1 team R27 vehicle.
He will be joined by Lucas DiGrassi, third driver for the Renault F1 team and both are expected to reach speeds of up to 270 km/h during their on-street performances.
Launched in 2003, the Renault F1 roadshow has, to date, thrilled about two million people worldwide and this year’s event is being brought to South Africa as a result of a strategic partnership between the Gauteng provincial government and the ING Renault F1 Team.
According to Paul Mashatile, Gauteng MEC of Finance and Economic Affairs, the province is very optimistic that the partnership will take Gauteng closer to achieving its strategic objective of increasing its share of the tourism market to 55% of all international arrivals.
“We are confident that it will serve to market Gauteng, its infrastructure, attractions, facilities and logistics and enhance the province’s marketability as an investment and tourism destination.
“As importantly, we believe it will create interest in motor sport within the youth sector, in particular those from previously disadvantaged communities.”
Renault said that its aim with the event is to broaden the appeal of Formula One.
“With the Roadshow programme now well into its fifth season, its goal of taking passionate fans and newcomers to the very core of Formula 1 action, remains unchanged,” the French F1 team said.
I totally understand all what you are saying.
Im not trying to say 'Dont watch formula 1', but i recon watching not so experienced/not as good drivers make errors, to make the race more thrilling. Now i dont mean crasing into walls, i mean, spins and driving over the grass.
I like to hear everyones views.
By cars you mean ferrari's... right?
i know...:( i felt sorry for him
Yeah. But he's still going to be involved with F1 after he retires, so it won't be the last one he'll be present at.

F1 is not in Volkswagen's sights within the next three years, the German carmaker's motor racing representative Hans-Joachim Stuck insists.
BMW-Sauber team boss Mario Theissen suggested last weekend that other European manufacturers, including VW, Audi and Porsche, are interested in the sport's current direction, including measures to rationalise budgets and road-relevant technologies like KERS.
"For a global automobile company such as Volkswagen, Formula One is always a topic," Stuck, who contested Grands Prix as a driver in the 70s, told the German language newspaper Vorarlberger Nachrichten.
Adding that part of his role is to communicate with "powerful" figures including Max Mosley and Bernie Ecclestone, Stuck explained, "An entry within the next three years is however not realistic. There are still uncertainties in the regulations - (like) the engine freeze."
Former double world champion Fernando Alonso has dealt a blow to rumours he is the mysterious character known in motoring circles as 'The Stig'.
The Stig, who always wears plain white racing gear and helmet, is an anonymous and highly-skilled test driver for the BBC television motoring programme, Top Gear.
It is often speculated that Alonso is The Stig. But the rumour exited the realms of possibility during the recent British Grand Prix weekend, when The Stig actually appeared in the Silverstone paddock.
He performed some laps of the damp Northamptonshire circuit at the wheel of a two-seater Formula One car - watched on closely by none other than Alonso.
"Whoever's in that car is a seriously good driver," the 19-time Grand Prix winner is quoted as telling the Top Gear website.
"I've no idea who he is, but he's definitely ex-F1," Alonso added.
i knew he was good and made out to be one of the best but i thought that was just tallk(anyone discounted brundle or blundell yet as they both would be easily available for a bitish tv prog?)
Can't wait for this weekend !!!
Good racing ahead of us.
Plus, South Africa is playing Australia in the Tri Nations!!!
We're gonna pummel them!!! (hopefully)

This is a refreshing change of pace for the usual "I am king of the tarmac" Hamilton:
Lewis warns against complacency
21/07/2008 13:16
Germany - Briton Lewis Hamilton on Monday warned against anyone "getting carried away" with his recent resurgence of form after successive wins at the British and German Grands Prix.
The 23-year-old Englishman, who produced a superb aggressive drive to seize victory in Sunday's German race, said he felt on top form again after a spell of indifferent results.
But he added he knew well, after last year's final race disappointment, that there remains a long way to go in the scrap for glory in the drivers' world championship.
Hamilton is now four points clear in the title race and will head towards the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest and the European race on a street circuit in Valencia, Spain, with high confidence.
"We are really on top of our game," said Hamilton, who had to overcome a strategy mistake by his McLaren Mercedes-Benz team and then pass three rivals in thrilling fashion to win.
"But we have not to get too far ahead of ourselves. We've got a long way to go and we've got to make sure that we can continue with this performance."

:blink::blink:
It is not inconceivable that World Champion Kimi Raikkonen will retire at the end of this season, according to former Grand Prix veteran Martin Brundle.
The Briton, who is now a commentator for British television, wrote in his latest newspaper column that he senses an "unhappy and frustrated" streak in the 28-year-old Ferrari driver's demeanour at present.
Before the recent British Grand Prix, Raikkonen shoved a respected photographer on the grid, and at Hockenheim he struggled all weekend and dropped seven points behind Lewis Hamilton's championship lead.
"I would still be more than surprised if he retired this year, but if he wants to sign off as World Champion, he needs more speed and balance in his car," Brundle wrote in the Sunday Times.
Brundle said he cannot imagine Raikkonen as a young retiree.
"I cannot easily imagine him as a businessman, a media person or a home-loving family man. I find it hard to think of him as anything other than a one-dimensional, totally focused born racer," the veteran of more than 150 races, most recently in 1996, added.
"So he would go snowmobile racing for fun, and occasional form suggests he might drink too much. You would actually worry more for him if he retired than if he was still racing," Brundle said.
Is he going or is he staying?
Kimi Raikkonen insists he has not lost the desire to win, but the defending world champion is still refusing to commit to Formula One beyond the end of his Ferrari contract next year.
The 28-year-old Finn had a notably lacklustre German Grand Prix last weekend, amid rumours his heart is no longer in it and he may be contemplating an early retirement.
"The desire to win hasn't decreased at all," Raikkonen said on Tuesday, insisting that last year - when he ultimately won the drivers' title - he similarly went six races without a victory.
But in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El Mundo, he refused to confirm whether he will still be on the grid in 2010.
"I am not in a hurry to decide," Raikkonen said. "I have one more year on my contract that I want to fulfil."
"For 2010, we will see. It is not an easy decision, it is necessary to evaluate many things."
Many observers cannot understand why, with possibly F1's most lucrative contract and one of the most competitive seats, Raikkonen would be considering hanging up his helmet.
"I don't feel like I need to explain, I will make my decision when I am ready. Ferrari is not rushing me either."
"There are many things to do outside of Formula One - I will find ways to amuse myself," he said, "and I have never had problems with having spare time."
Similarly, Raikkonen does not exclude the possibility of simply continuing at Ferrari in 2010, and would welcome Fernando Alonso as a team-mate.
"Why not?" he answered when asked about potentially having Alonso as a team-mate. "Who knows, but I am not the one who makes the decisions about drivers."
