If you work with printed documents, you often need a Log in to see links. There are three types of document scanners: flat surface, handheld and cut sheet feeder. Among them, flatbed scanners operate so that users place the document to be scanned on the glass in the machine. Within the flatbed scanner, an image sensor moves around the page and copies the content.Manual scanners are used manually by the user. Here, the user must manually move the sensor along the document to be scanned.A sheet scanner resembles a printer by sliding the sheet of paper over the sensor to obtain a scanned image of the page.

CCD sensor: Scanners typically use a CCD (Charge Coupled Device) or contact image sensor (CIS) for their image sensor. Drum scanners, however, work with a photomultiplier tube as an image sensor. The image sensor of most document scanners includes a number of charge coupled devices. This is the device responsible for bringing the electrical charge inside the device into a situation where it can be manipulated or transformed into digital values.

This range of CCD sensors uses light-sensitive diodes that convert the recorded light into an electrical signal that transmits the same data. For flatbed scanners, the CCD matrix has light inside the scanner that illuminates the side and makes it easier to read the matrix. In general, the sensors work in three-color RGB mode. This means that the image of the document is separated by a lens into these three images (red, green and blue) before it is replaced when it is displayed on a computer.

The CIS sensor: The contact image sensor is different. It contains hundreds of RGB LED lamps. When combined, they become a white light. To scan a document, the sensor is placed with a pane of glass very close to the document. When the document is scanned, it emits white light. At this point, the sensors capture the image of the document.

Transferring to the computer: Scanning stops when the scanned image is transferred to the connected computer. A Log in to see links can be connected to a computer via a USB flash drive, a system interface, a group of computers connected to a common scanner, or FireWire. The language scanners that understand and read are called TWAIN. These language drivers are usually accompanied by programs such as PhotoShop and are part of the installation CD that came with the scanner you purchased.

Once the image is available on the computer, it can be stored in various file types, e.g. For example, PDF to view documents or PNG files that display an uncompressed picture of very high quality but require a lot of space.
