If there is any difference in the file size, then you can upload it.

If a game is made for an old phone, It may not be as popular as games made for recent phones, but you can still upload it. Like apoteka said, someone will want to download it.

As you have already done with your previous uploads, adding any information you may have of the game and what handset it supports is always helpful, as we can not fully identify Java (J2ME) games and the phone(s) they fully support - this seems to be currently impossible. The only information that is always provided in a jar file is the MIDP version, only a few developers include information of the supported phone and resolutions. When a Java game is uploaded, the MANIFEST.MF file is checked, images are checked (for the resolution), the game is tested on both SJBoy & Nokia SDK emulators and a search for any duplicates is made.

It is much easier to identify what handsets Symbian (sis/sisx) games support as this information is provided within the sis/sisx file. You can read sis/sisx files using AnalySIS (S60v3 - S60v5 and UIQ3) and SISRead (S60v1 - S60v2 and UIQ1 & 2). sis/sisx files don't usually have any information on what resolutions are supported.

When an upload is refused, a refusal counter is triggered. As James and Aaron said, this does not affect your membership status. We only use this information to see if any members are purposely uploading duplicate items or constantly uploading pornographic material and may take action to any members that are found to be doing so.

As far as I'm concerned, you are an excellent uploader (and member), and your games are a pleasure to validate, as you format the titles correctly and include all information (resolutions etc.) that is required for us to validate quicker and easier.

Thank You Karl , Your reply was very clear and informative.

While I'm at it , I would like some more help/information's please !
Regarding the preview file for a game:
    - on the games upload page it only says "Max.file size: 100kb" , but nothing about the picture pixel size.
Does that mean that I am allowed to use any pixel size as long as the picture file size does not exceed 100kb?
Is there some recommended/preferred pixel size I should use?

I am asking because a preview picture made out of 4 independent screen shots gets quite big (up to 480x640) , but when I skew (compress) it down to about 240x320 it looks very crappy - You actually can't see anything anymore.
The same raw preview picture scaled down to about 352x416 (more or less) looks very decent tough , without being to big in file size (about 35-50 kb).

Is a preview picture of about 352x416 px/ ~50 kb OK?

A big thanks in advance to any of You who is going to reply!

    EDIT:
OK , I see it now in the gallery!
A multiple screen shot preview picture really does look crappy after it gets resized.
I'll try to stick to a single screen shot , looks much better.
    Thanks

The screenshots are auto-resized so there is no problem if you upload (for example) a 500x620 picture......
Don't worry about the screenshots, the only important thing is to upload a pic of the game you uploaded...

The maximum size of the preview screenshot displayed in the gallery is 176x220 (although you can upload any dimensions as Chris said)
Even if you upload a 100 KB preview, I think the preview quality will be automatically reduced for smaller file size.

In my personal opinion 4 independent screenshots put in one image will look very bad when its automatically resized to such small dimensions.

I've just been thinking if always noticed in creating your own ringtones it says your allowed to have 45 seconds, but if you actually do upload anything over 30 seconds they are refused.

So its sort of false information isn't it? just a thought... might help to stop confusion if that was changed...

We allow ringtones to be made up to 45 seconds in length for private uploads. If you select "I want to share this ringtone publicly (subject to approval)" you will receive the following message... "Please note: Ringtones longer than 30 seconds long will not be accepted to avoid copyright issues."

    Only .jpg is allowed
If you use images in other formats that are just renamed as .jpg it won't work.
Even .JPG, jpeg, JPEG, etc is not allowed (case matters)

What's the actual limit for uploading video file sizes?
It says 3 MB but there are no errors when you upload larger files
