Prescott cores are excessively power hungry as well as being hot-runners.
60-65°C while idling??? (2.8/3.0/3.2 GHz on PPGA478 and PLGA775 confirmed) , no thanks.

Intel hit the roof with their Netburst technology introducing the Prescott core.

But that is OK , they abandoned Netburst eventually and released their "Core" CPU's - now , these processors I do like.

Just to point out one fact - Intel CPU's are the ONLY ones I ever wanna have in any of my PC's (past and current opinion!).
As such I don't want to make Intel bad , they just went off tracks with the Prescott's - especially the first ones for PPGA478.
